I’ve decided to share our homeschool journey to both encourage others and be encouraged along the way. I’m a high school dropout who had the “audacity” to pull my kids out of public school and homeschool them—even with only a 9th-grade education myself.
When I first started, I felt overwhelmed, lost, and intimidated by all the “qualified” homeschool moms I encountered. But over the past 15 years of homeschooling five children—three of whom have now graduated—I’ve learned so much about my kids, and about myself.
I’ve learned that homeschooling doesn’t have to look like public school. And our homeschool doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s either. I’ve learned to forgive myself, to feel proud of choosing this courageous path, and to embrace the fact that I can learn alongside my children. I don’t have to know everything to help them grow.
So, welcome to my little corner of the world! Here, I hope you feel encouraged, inspired, and loved as we navigate the joys and challenges of homeschooling together.
